WCWAA Challenge Soccer Program
The goal of the WCWAA Challenge organization is to provide an environment in which the level of competition, commitment, and player development falls between that of the Recreation and Classic Leagues. All Challenge Coaches have a responsibility to develop the soccer skills and team play of their players.
Coaches
All coaches are licensed and are required to evidence and/or
demonstrate capabilities, previous soccer experience and a coaching history.
Teams
In order to provide a quality program, it is the intent of the WCWAA Challenge program to offer two teams per age group for boys and girls teams. This approach allows the organization to focus its resources to the teams such as providing quality coaching, training and players to assist the teams in achieving their potential. The WCWAA training staff continues to evaluate the player pool for all programs to determine if additional teams are meet the growth potential of our players at each level within our soccer program.
Practice & Game Player Commitment
Participating in all training, practices and games is required to achieve maximum development potential.
- Teams will normally train 2 times a week.
- If a player does not attend any of the practices, there is no guaranteed playing time.
- Otherwise, playing time is based on attitude, commitment, ability, and merit.
League
WCWAA Challenge teams will play in the Charlotte Area Youth Soccer League (www.caysl.org)
Tournaments
- Teams may attend 4 - 6 tournaments annually.
Challenge Guidelines
All Challenge teams will follow and abide by the Challenge Guidelines as established by NCYSA.
