Weddington Challenge and Classic Soccer, started in 2005, continues to grow and excel in North Carolina's competitive soccer environments. Our program's philiosophy is to train our players through our Recreational level and then provide them the competition at the higher levels with our Challenge and Classic programs.
Our success can be seen through all the High School and College bound players from Union County that started their soccer careers here at WCWAA in our Recreationprogram.
Weddington Soccer is all about skill training, technical development at the higher level and competing at the highest level against the strongest of competition.
All our coaches are NSCAA certified and teams work with trainers during practices to improve their individual skills as well as the developing an understanding of the game as a team.
Our training/practices are held twice a week and typically last for up to 2 hours. Games are scheduled through the Charlotte Area Youth Soccer League (CAYSL) for Challenge and North Carolina Youth Soccer League (NCYSA) for Classic/Premier.
Each May when NCYSA determines, Weddington Soccer tryouts are held at Optimist Park. If a player is offered a position on one of our Teams there is a one-year commitment consisting of a Fall and Spring season to that Team and our club.
Our program is open to all players interested in trying out for one of our teams.
